About Friends

The Friends of Meldreth Manor and Orchard Manor (FOMMOM) was formed initially in 1999 to support the well being of the students and their carers attending Meldreth Manor School and, since its establishment in 2007,  its sister facility Orchard Manor. Meldreth Manor is an Independent Special School and Children’s Home that provides care, education and recreational opportunities for children and young people with complex physical, medical and communication needs.

Orchard Manor is a transitional opportunity taking younger adults with complex needs from age 18 for a period of 3 to 4 years in order to prepare them for community based living. Meldreth Manor School and Orchard Manor were operated by SCOPE until 2016 when ownership and management transferred to the Aurora Group,

The Friends’ mission is to raise funds to support the students of Meldreth Manor School and Orchard Manor and to enhance the quality of life of the children and young adults.

Ian Wilson is the Chair of the Friends of Meldreth Manor and Orchard Manor and Executive Committee member.
