The Hydrotherapy Pool

One of the long-term aims of the Friends is to support the provision and operation of a hydrotherapy pool on the Meldreth site. Hydrotherapy is one of the most beneficial, and popular, activities available at Meldreth Manor and Orchard Manor however the current facilities are often unavailable due to frequent breakdowns and obsolete equipment.

Whilst under the management of SCOPE plans were advanced for the refurbishment of the existing Hydrotherapy pool. With the take-over by the Aurora Group there are well advanced plans for a complete rebuild of the pool in order to provide a state-of-the-art facility. This is an exciting development and the Friends are keen to be part of this process and to help in the funding of this facility.

The Friends have provided funds over a number of years for entertaintment and equipment which have been much enjoyed by the residents but which would not have routinely be covered by the services provided onsite.

These have included sponsoring trips to the London Paralympics in 2012; annual visits to Christmas pantomimes; equipment to enable interaction with, and the creation, of music; provision of flat screen TVs and mini-buses. The Friends will continue to provide these "extra-curricular" services for residents in co-ordination with the Aurora Group.
